Refers to cosine-correlation except instead of using a cosine wave, we use a sine wave.

Just like cosine correlation we find that the correlation of a sine and cosine wave can be written as [see page 4, proportional] to the sine of the phase-difference

\[ q = \alpha \sin(\phi) \]

Note: [see page 3, how] the correlation of a sinus and cosinus varies as a sinus.
