The [see page 13, affect] when two waves interfere with each each other.
Interference can be either:
Type | Description |
---|---|
Constructive | Amplify each other, when they have the same phase |
Destructive | Cancel each other out, when they have inverse phase |
When waves encounter an obstacle they're reflected. When they reflect back onto themselves they can constructively (or destructively) interfere with themselves through superposition.
